All rates include: Unlimited mileage; CDW; theft protection; road service surcharge, station airport surcharge,motor liability insurance; taxes and one additional driver.

Minimum rental - 7 days
Minimum driver age - 18 years*
Minimum experience - full driving licence must be held for 1 year

*Young driver supplement will apply for ages 18-24. €10.15 per day charge up to a maximum of €101.50 per rental.

Please note that all vehicles are booked on a request-basis and your choice of vehicle may not be available, particularly for bookings made within 4 weeks of departure.

Excess & Excess Waiver Insurance
Our rates include insurance should you have an accident. However, if you are unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident, you must may pay an 'Excess', similar to many UK insurance policies. Insurance excess for hire cars are much higher so you can pay to insure against the excess with the car hire company (see rates below), purchase an Annual Excess Waiver Insurance from a UK insurer prior to travel or choose to take the risk - although we would not recommend you take the latter option!

Extra Insurance

Upon collection of your vehicle it is likely that the car hire company will offer you Personal Assistance Insurance (PAI) at between €6.40 to €9.75 per day, Windscreen Damage Waiver (WDW) between €3.60 to €6.65 per day and Road Safety Net (RSN)  to cover for roadside assistance, loss of keys or flat tyres, at €4.38 per day. The UK Insurance company also provides cover for extras but is your responsibility to check that policy documents carefully to ensure you have the necessary cover in place.

Motorway & Tolls
The A22 motorway, that stretches the length of the Algarve, has a toll system. All hire cars a fitted with an E-toll device (a small electronic box attached to the windscreen) which enables payment of any tolls via an electronic system, deducted from a credit card registered against the device. If a car has an E-Toll device then it is not possible to pay for any tolls in cash at the Post Office or Pay Shop. You may refuse the E-toll service however you are then not permitted to use the motorway and will incur fines should you do so. The charge for the E-toll service is €1.54 per day, maximum €15.44, plus tolls. If a car is not fitted with an E-Toll device then tolls must be paid within 48 hours of travel at the Post Office or designated Pay Shop. 

Child Seats
Requests for baby seats or child booster seats should be made at the time of booking. These are charged at €11.56 per day, payable locally. If you rent the vehicle for more than 10 days, you'll only be charged for a maximum of 10 days and get to use the car seat for the duration of your rental, up to 30 days.

Additional Drivers
Two drivers are included within the above rates. Additional drivers are charged €7.90 per day, up to a maximum of €63.20 per rental, payable locally

Pick Up, Drop Off, Delivery & Collection
We will automatically arrange for cars to be collected and returned from Faro Airport however we can arrange this from Lisbon Airport or, should you prefer to arrange a transfer from the airport to your chosen villa, we can arrange for hire cars to be delivered and collected. Car deliveries may only be made between 10:00 - 11:45 and 15:00 -18:30 and you must be present so remember to bear in mind that access to your villa is from 16:00 on arrival day and you must vacate your villa by 10:00 on departure day. Cars are charged on a 24-hour basis therefore if you collect your vehicle at 10:00 on arrival day and you wish to drop off at 16:00 on your departure day, you will be charged for an additional day - the tolerance is a maximum of 59 minutes. **Please note that for flights arriving after 22:00 will incur a late arrival meet charge of €60.00.**

Driving & The Law
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the laws regarding driving in Portugal however it should be noted that drink driving limits are lower than the UK and driving while under the influence of drink or drugs invalidates the car insurance. Speeding tickets, parking fines, motorway tolls etc. are the responsibility of the renter. If the police stop you for any reason, you should always have proof of identity plus the car hire contract with you.

Please note that any prices quoted for optional or compulsory charges exclude VAT (IVA) which will be charged at the current rate.
