This delightfully refurbished farmhouse with extensive landscaped gardens was originally a baker’s farm that, in years gone by, used to bake bread for the churches of the area, hence its name, ‘Baker Farm’. The owners undertook with great love and care the remodelling of this special quinta to make it a modern and comfortable home, but seeking to preserve most of its features, such as the bread ovens, one of which was transformed into a bathroom and the other now boasts a wood burning stove. As is characteristic in this type of buildings, most of the rooms are spread out over one level with many split-level areas in between, adding to the charm of this lovely villa. The spacious, fully equipped kitchen is a delight for those who love to cook and its easy access to the barbecue (and pool) area with large, covered terrace for al-fresco dining makes catering for eight people a piece of cake. The three well appointed bedrooms each with its own shower/bathroom, are situated in the main house, with a further twin bedroom with en suite shower accessed externally just a few steps down from the pool terrace. The extensive and beautifully tended mature gardens boast grassy lawns, a Moroccan garden with water feature, a lake, a rose garden, walking paths and even a small playground for the little ones. Very thoughtful of the owners is that the pool area and access to the gardens are gated. Situated in the tranquil rural area of Val d’Eguas on the outskirts of Almancil, yet walking distance from restaurants and a very short drive away from the bustling golden triangle resorts of Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, this villa will surely provide a superb holiday.
Walking distance to restaurants in the area range from 700 m to 1.5 km. There is the well known "Malveiro" and the local's lunch stop 'Flor de Vale d'Eguas on one side and a little bit farther away you will find the well known local's favourite 'Casa de Pasto Formosa' and also not far from there the 'Fat Frog' and PiriPiri'.
At a short drive away you will find Almancil supermarkets (2kms) Vale do Lobo beach 14mins by car (7,8km); Quinta do Lago (Quinta Shopping) 11mins (6km); Praia do Ancão beach 17mins (9,7km); Mar Shopping & Fashion Outlet 11mins (10,9kms)
Electric wrought iron gates open up to large cobblestone parking area with a flight of steps ahead that lead up to a gated patio and the front entrance. On the side of the parking area is a gated staircase down that gives access to the gardens. From front door into entrance hall – to the right, spacious well-equipped kitchen, flows into hall with door to cloakroom and door with access to 1 twin bedroom (can be made as a double, please request when booking) with en suite shower room. From there, two steps down into small hall with laundry room and patio doors to front terrace. From kitchen into open plan living room and (2 steps up) dining area with TV and log burning stove (set within the original bread oven), patio doors open up to the pool/barbecue area. From entrance hall - to the left, gated staircase down to small hall with access to 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower room and 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom with separate shower, both with patio doors to a large balcony that leads to the pool area and to the gardens. Accessed from this balcony is 1 twin bedroom (with its own entrance) with en suite shower room. The pool area is gated and has a large terrace with sunbeds and portable barbecue, a few steps up there is a large, covered terrace with plenty of lounge seating and al-fresco dining facilities. The extensive gardens can be accessed from the parking area and from the large balcony in front of two of the bedrooms. Maid service 3 x per week, air conditioning and pool heating if required, at extra cost.
