Affinity Villas has gained quite a reputation for offering exclusive villas with private pools on the Algarve, Portugal. Monte dos Vendavais in Luz (pictured above) for example has an unusual circular pool which is 10m in diameter.
One of the best things about staying at a villa with a private pool is that there’s no need to jump out of bed early to reserve the best sun lounger and neither do you need to go far! It’s a simple case of enjoying a leisurely breakfast and then ambling along to wherever you like to perch yourself for the day. If you prefer, you can wander along to the beach, shops or restaurants in the morning followed by some local sightseeing without having to think about finding a spot to relax with a sundowner on your return.
There’s a good choice of villas with private pools and your selection will of course depend on your own particular preferred location and amenities but we’ve picked out a few that we think are extra special.
A Sea View
Everyone loves looking at the sea but swimming in it is a different matter. The choice is yours if you’re nearby and should you prefer to feast your eyes on the ocean from the comfort of your villa, you might want to opt for a property with a sea view, such as Casa Polgoda or Casa Margarida in Carvoeiro or Casa Cor de Rosa in Praia do Vau.

Something for the Children
If you’re encouraging the little ones to become water babies, what better place to start than a private pool with a children’s area, such as the one at Villa Elise in Carvoeiro? No more disturbances from other parents and their children!
Chill out with a Countryside Panorama
If peace and tranquillity beckon after too many long days in the office, a pool with a rural view may smooth your ruffled feathers. Casa Eira (below) enjoys an elevated position with far reaching views from its 13 acre plot close to the village of Mexilhoeira Grande.
