We appreciate that right now we are in very uncertain times with many of our clients worried about their future bookings and the general worry of living in unprecedented and unknown times.
We would like to reassure our clients that we are still here to respond to emails and calls for imminent departures and would ask that you could be patient with us, as with reduced staffing at present we are taking a little longer to respond.
Whilst we are all monitoring the current FCO advice we are asking all clients with balances due for payment to contact their insurance companies. Some insurance companies are encouraging their clients to cancel and claim for their loss of deposit and others are safeguarding balance payments for policies taken out at the time of booking. This is allowing many clients to settle balances knowing they are fully insured if the current FCO travel advice remains in place nearer the time of travel. This will all depend on your scheduled travel date.
For the travel industry the present time is very uncertain with travel companies incurring all their administrative costs, marketing and staff costs for many months in advance of the 2020 travel season, including contractual commitment to our suppliers. We are unable to postpone bookings and carry forward deposits and balances to future bookings in order to protect our business and meet our contractual commitments to suppliers and staff, especially since the majority of our costs have been incurred over the last 7 months in preparation for this summer season. We do make it part of our booking conditions and advise all clients at the time of booking to take out appropriate travel insurance for which cover for this type of disruption is normally covered.
